About Kris


Kris Frieswick is an award-winning editor, journalist, humorist and author. The Ghost Manuscript is her debut novel. She is the deputy section editor of the Mansion section of The Wall Street Journal, writer of the WSJ humor column "Homeownerous," and prior to that was an executive editor at Inc. Magazine
She wrote a humor column for the Boston Phoenix newspapers for almost ten years. She received national and regional awards for her reporting, editing and humor. Her work appears in a wide variety of publications including The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, Medium, Entrepreneur Magazine, The Boston Globe Magazine, Departures, The National and Hemispheres. Her humor columns were included in two best-selling anthologies. 

She is an avid long-distance cyclist, traveler, quasi-gourmet cook, and hostess, with her husband, of legendary dinner parties. She despises shopping. She grew up in a tiny central Massachusetts farm town and knows how to start a fire, load a rifle and ride an ATV without flipping it over (much). She lives in New York, Cape Cod and St. Croix, USVI.
